What to Pack: Maldives | What’s in My Bag

Packing for the Maldives is not easy, because you want to be well prepared for the most beautiful place in the world. I’m not visiting again soon but since I always want to find new content of my already visited destinations, I thought I’d try. I only published one post by now. I didn’t blog back then, so I missed taking pictures of 3 really beautiful hotels. Maybe I’ll be back someday. It’s not planned for this year, but I really want to go back. Maybe next year? Back to the topic: if you’re planning a holiday to the Maldives, here are my packing Ideas. Did I forget something? Write a comment. Just click on the plus symbol on the picture. Then, you will be forwarded to the shop and you can shop for the products mentioned.

Packing for the Maldives

Sun Hat.In my opinion this is a must if you want to take pretty pictures! I don’t like it when my hair is all messy on a holiday. Everything will look more chic with a hat. It’s also really hot there and you need to protect yourself from the sun. Don’t underestimate the sun.

Mirrored Sunglasses. Okay, what should I say? You’ll need them, just pack a few in different shapes and colors.

Sunscreen 50+ I tan really fast and it also lasts long. It’s rare that I get a sunburn, but I had one once. Guess where I was!? Yes, it was the Maldives. My skin got really red and I had blisters. Even if you think you will never get a sunburn, please take enough sunscreen with you.

No shoes. Okay I’m exaggerating but take as few as possible shoes with you. On a lot of islands there is the saying “No Shoes No News.” You just don’t wear shoes – at the beach or in a restaurant. If you go to the toilet, you take flip flops. On my first holiday, I took way too many shoes with me – I only needed two pairs. My flip flops and my flippers ;-) You’d be better off packing a Snorkeling Set!

Click above in the Picture on the Plus (+) and you will be forwarded to the shop.

Light, Casual & Short Outfits. Pack as many airy skirts and shorts as possible. Long pants or dresses are not useful when it’s 40 degrees. I always take cotton shorts or loose boyfriend denim shorts with me. Short jumpsuits are good as well. The dresscode is very casual anyway.

Bikinis and Bikinis. You’ll switch between sunbed, sea, and pool. That’s why I recommend taking a lot of bikinis with you. For pretty pictures I recommend completely white bikinis, black bikinis or Bikinis with a palm, pineapple, helican, Hawaii flower or whatever Prints. It looks great at the ocean.

To take great pictures, you’ll need a camera. It’s best if you take a little handy camera with you that is also waterproof. There is no place more beautiful where you can snorkel like the Maldives. ThepPictures you’ll take there under water will be a great memory of this wonderful destination. ♥♥♥

Flashlight. You often have to walk a long way from your bungalow to the main house, the restaurant, or the bar. It’s relatively dark most of the way. Either pack a flashlight or use your Smartphone.

Cash. Dollars for tips. You should order the foreign currency at your bank ahead of time. You can charge everything on credit as well at your hotel and pay everything with your credit card when departing. You can find this kind of information on your hotel website.
