Es Trenc | The Beach in Southern Mallorca

When I was at the beach in April on my visit with Weleda, I knew instantly that I wanted to come back. I can’t remember when I last saw such a beautiful beach with turquoise shimmery water in Europe! This 6-kilometer-long beach is called the Caribbean of Palma de Mallorca. In my opinion, this beach is one of the highlights of Mallorca and worth a visit!

The beach can look different depending on the weather. When I visited in April, the water had a lot of dark spots with lots of seaweed. If the night before was windy, the beach can become full of seaweed. I think that doesn’t happen much in the main season. We had great weather and the beach could not have been more beautiful. You might have seen my Instagram pictures.

The nature, the white sand and turquoise water makes nature-lovers’ and photographers’ hearts skip a beat.

You will find beach bars, parasols, and sunbeds every couple meters. Behind the dunes, there is a nature reserve with brackish water lagoons and wetlands. If you’re lucky, you can see flamingos. Moreover, there is also natural salt production. When you reach the Es Trenc beach, you’ll find a cute souvenir shop. I’ll publish an extra post on this.

Driving there was easy because I remebered the route. You can enter the address of the shop into your GPS and orientate yourself on my description. It’s just through the nature reserve until you reach a parking lot. We went there by bike before and it’s only a couple of kilometers. You can’t miss it.

Route & Address  of the Souvenir Shop

This is the address until the souvenir shop. You can enter it in your GPS.
Carretera Campos a Colonia S. Jordi, Km 8.7, 07630

After the shop, you’ll follow a narrow street next to salt piles. Afterwards, there are waterholes and a little forest. After some time, you’ll hit a crossroad with a little cabin, where person sells tickets/park-tickets. Don’t turn yet! Follow the road. If you reach a bigger cabin where you can see an access road to the left and right, you’re going the right way. Here there are a lot of parking spots and it only takes a couple of minutes to reach the beach. The ticket costs 8 Euro per car for a whole day.

If you click on the button, you’ll see the directions on Google Maps. It’s really not far away. However, the streets are very narrow. So, it can get difficult when oncoming traffic arrives. Be cautious and don’t drive too fast. I hope you liked my beach blogpost and that you want to go there too now. More Mallorca posts are planned.
