Hey guys, I already told you in my last Rom travel post, that I’ve been flying with EasyJet. I read a lot of negative comments on these cheap flights, so I thought I’d write about my experiences. At first I was scared and I wanted to book another flight, because I’ve read a lot of negative things about Easyjet. But my opinion has changed. Budget airlines offer normal flights for extraordinary prices. That’s why these airlines are popular. What are the pros and cons? It’s important to know everything beforehand. The airlines often communicate these facts online.
You have to renounce the following services:
- You normally have to pay for extra luggage
- No free snacks and drinks
- Seat reservations cost extra
- Normally only landing at tiny (not main) airports
- Flights are fully booked most of the time
- Often only ONE piece of hand luggage is allowed
These facts are things you can prepare for. If you can’t take extra luggage, then just book for a short trip, where hand luggage is enough. A piece of hand luggage has to fit this size: 56 x 45 x 25 cm.
Not having free meals is okay as well. If you’re on a short distance flight you will survive 2 hours without snacks. I also read about having to pay for going to the restroom? I didn’t make this experience with Easyjet, or Ryanair. It was the first time with Easyjet for me and I was convinced. The aircraft was cleaner than e.g. FlyNiki. My boyfriend also said that he had more space for his legs. The service was really nice and friendly.
Info: Our flights were delayed. The machine wasn’t in Vienna yet and when flying back the flight was delayed, because there was a fire at the airport some weeks before – some areas weren’t usable. The employees excused themselves all the time.
