The Widder Zürich has an interesting story. The General Manager Jan Brucker told us about it when we arrived. It began in 1970, the Union Bank of Switzerland bought the buildings. In 1995 the hotel was opened after 25 years. Mr Bruckner became the Director in 2001. Each Building is decorated in a lovely way. There are 34 rooms and 15 suites. There is art by a lot of artists such as Eileen Gray.

I was in the „Haus zum Augustiner“ and my room was a little apartment. Behind the door is a corridor to your bedroom. When I turned on the lights, Jazzmusic started. I had to take a look into the bathroom. Integrated TV in the mirror, Dolby-Surround-Feeling. hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, wipes, towels… no bathtub though. But there was a rain shower. !

The Restaurant August offers breakfast and normal food. You have to try the food here! The menu is great. The dishes look beautiful.

We were surprised with a special dinner on Saturday. The Setting was unbelievable and the food as well. The topic was Urban Jungle. We had 7 delicious courses with wine. After dinner the wine cellar was shown to us. I think my father would have loved this. We tried an Austrian wine from Wachau.

Back to the Hotel & the employees. I was overblown. On this weekend there were movie festivals in Zurich, so there were Hollywood Stars in our hotel. I think VIPS are very stressful for the whole Hotel, but that’s didn’t influence anyone. Jan came to our dinner and introduced us to Kiefer Sutherland, which made us speechless. Juno-Star, Ellen Page was also next to me at the bar. The employees acted professionally. I can’t believe that I was allowed to be part in something so great. It’s hard to find words and I’m really thankful. Thank you Rene, Jan & everyone involved. You organized a great program. I hope you liked my impressions from Hotel Widder Zürich.
