Ciao everybody! I’m back from our trip. Rome was great! I can’t believe it was my first time. Sorry for not posting anything. Today I want to give you an impression of my vacation.

So now back to my post – I will post about what you need to know about a trip to Rome, what you need to visit and what’s not so interesting. If you have further questions, just ask. Let’s Go!
Flight Information/Airport/Transports
Flighttime: Friday 14:34, Monday 12:15
Airline: EasyJet
Booked via: Skyscanner
Luggage: none
Booking date: 02. February
Costs: 49 Euro
Transport Airport/Hotel: Taxi
Info: The flight was really this cheap. I’m constantly searching on Skyscanner for cheap flights. I will write about that in a seperate post.
Important: BEWARE! Don’t take a cab from the airport. You should only take the white cabs with red lettering on it. The others will try to rip you off. The cab from the airport to the hotel will only cost you maximum 48€ – not one cent more or less!
Hotel/Meals
Hotel: Residence Colosseum
Position: Via d’Africa (Side street at Colosseum)
Meals: none
Costs: 390 Euro
We left out the breakfast and booked only the room. The idea is similar to AirBnB. We had to get our keys somewhere else to get into our 2-room-appartement. The room was clean and modern. Shower, toilet, airconditioning, flat TV, super fast Wifi and a comfy bed. We only paid 65€ per person (per night), which is really cheap.
Tours/Programme
Booked via: GetYourGuide
Moved by: foot (except the Vatican)
Costs: expensive
——— You should do these activities in Rome ———
- Vatican City & Vatican Museums
- Peter’s Basilica & St. Peter’s Square
- Sistine Chapel
- Spanish Steps
- Colosseum
- Palatino/Roman Forum
You should book in advance all the above mentioned tours. I booked my tours 3 weeks before I got there via GetYourGuide. Beware: Even when you already booked the tours it doesn’t mean that there won’t be extra costs. We had to pay 23€ extra per person for headphones, more fees etc.
——— These activities aren’t that interesting ———
Trevi Well – you don’t have to pay a visit there right now, because the well is not in use right now. They’re restoring it.
Note: I wrote this post on 23.06.2015 – keep that in mind.
I hope I could help you to get a first impression for the costs and the things you could do.
